Today we had a "lunch and learn" seminar on retirement planning. Part of it turned into a group-hug, because the bank presenting the seminar donated to our March of Dimes campaign. The woman who organized the seminar is also the driving force behind my company's March of Dimes participation, and she was almost in tears over the bank's generosity. It makes me happy, though uncomfortable, to see that kind of thing happen at work.
I haven't been very good about asking for donations, and it's hard to get out and "sell" my cause when I know there are so many other places and people who need money. I try to give to other people who need it, and then think thoughts like I just put down over $800 on my car...
Argh. There are many competing causes out there, I know it can be hard. But every little bit counts in the big bad world. If you have a spare $5, please consider my campaign instead of that second visit to Starbucks.
Also, someone asked... The cute little model in the photo is the daughter of our friend S. from Oregon. I took this photo when we were at the Salem Zoo.
ETA: Also, if anyone wants to join us in the walk on April 25th, you are welcome to register as a walker on our team. Please let me know!
