While poking around at IMDB, I came across a notation that there is going to be yet another version of The Three Musketeers. Milla Jovovich is certainly making a career of it now...

Quote:
Melbourne, May 25 – Actor Orlando Bloom has been signed on to star in the 3D version of ‘The Three Musketeers’.

Bloom will play the Duke of Buckingham in the upcoming 3D venture while British comedian James Corden, of Gavin and Stacey fame, will portray the servant Planchet, reports Variety.

Previously announced cast for Musketeers includes Christoph Waltz as Cardinal Richelieu; Logan Lerman as D’Artagnan; Matthew MacFadyen, Ray Stevenson and Luke Evans as the musketeers Athos, Porthos and Aramis, respectively; Milla Jovovich as M’lady De Winter; and Mads Mikkelsen as Rochefort, reports the Daily Telegraph.

Well, they've got a "new" format - courtesy of one James Cameron, 3D is the rage again. Three Musketeers is always a reliable seller, especially given its markedly small special effects budget, and they have new pretty faces to put on the screen.

Figure it'll happen again in ten years.

I will probably see it, since we seem to be a 3Musketeers household. Although I can't claim reading Dumas in the original French, I have read it more than once and so has Houston. I know there are more than 20 films versions of the story (I have avoided Barbie and the Musketeers).

I just hope Orlando Bloom isn't playing Buckingham as Will, there is so much that could overlap character-wise. At least they didn't cast Keira Knightly as M'lady DeWinter.
