Today to Read
I've never met her in person. I wonder if this is a good idea, or a bad one.

River Marked
reading and signing
Thursday, March 3, 2011 • 7:30 PM
>>Borders – Bailey's Crossroads
5871 Crossroads Center Way | Bailey's Crossroads, VA | 703.998.0404

ETA: I called the store to find out how they are running this visit. You should show up as though you are a regular customer, and go to the checkout counter to pick up a "line ticket" for the signing after the reading. That way, there is no Oklahoma Land Rush after (or, ghods forbid, during) the reading for the autograph line. The woman on the phone recommended showing up between 6:30 and 7.

If you go, I'll be interested to hear about it.

Generally, meeting authors is a good idea. I've never known it not to be. And I like Briggs' books too! :)

Tamora Pierce being a possible exception. I'm not sure I like her as much anymore after her immigration rants.

?? I never heard she said anything like that, only E. Moon. Got a link handy?

Nice catch. I was thinking Elizabeth Moon, but have the new Tortall and Other Tales sitting here in front of me.

I have no idea if meeting Briggs is a good or bad idea, but I have been to other signings at that store and find their events generally well-run.
