Goats, gripes, and grasping for greatness
Good-bye to Sashimi and Constantine
24th-Jan-2012 06:20 pm
Summer
Sashimi and Constantine are off to a grand adventure in central Virginia. They will be the first Angoras on a mixed-breed dairy goat farm. Constantine is going in with the Nigerian bucks, and Sashimi is likely going to bulldoze her way into the Lamanchas once she has kidded.

Also, the new owners are big sci fi/fantasy readers. Before they left, they also did me the favor of cleaning out half of my giveawaybox of books.

So how do you think Sashimi's absence will affect your herd?

Sashimi is no longer the herd queen, so I don't expect that her absence is going to change the pecking order all that much. She had been up with Cookie and Sancho for months, so the girls weren't all that interested in integrating her when she moved over on Sunday. What's interesting is that Orchid was calling for Constantine this morning, and they only got put back together on Sunday, too.

Is she one of the first ones you bought when I was with you? Or one of their offspring? I can't remember...

Yes, Sashimi was one of the three that we bought in Maryland oh-so-many years ago. Good memory!
