I'm getting very excited about my next adventure. I'm headed to Maine on Sunday to join the J&E Riggin historical schooner on a four-day cruise of the Maine coast. If you want to see details, the link is here: http://www.mainewindjammer.com

The short story is that a lady in my knitting group doesn't have anyone with whom to travel, and this is an adventure that is appealing to me, so we are teamed up to try it out. Thing #1 - I haven't spent enough time in Maine, a state that I like. Thing #2 - I love to sail. Thing #3 - A gent who owns a local (in Maine) fiber mill will be teaching hat-knitting, which is not beyond my skill level or interest level, so the knitting angle is attractive as well.

I'm about halfway done in the clothes-layout part of my packing, and mentally I've started deciding on my yarn. Bill Huntington (our fearless knitter) recommended at least 4 colors of DK-ish weight yarn for stranded knitting. Gee, I happen to have yarn that would work perfectly for that...
