garden and animals

Our vet told me that the birds who nested above the front door (again!) are flycatchers. The baby birdies fledged forever in a sudden rush on Saturday morning. CK and I were both witness to that sudden whirr of wings as they exploded outward into the morning. Gone. I hope we'll see mom and dad back again for round three next year.

The peas are halfway high. So are the potatoes.
Some of the beets are making it. The carrots... don't look like they did so well.
I ate a strawberry from one of the three-(four?)-year-old plants in the pots on the back deck.
Everything needs weeding. I think probably the weeds need weeding at this point.

I have many cats supervising me as I type here at the dining room table. Three, to be exact. Sean-cat is merrily chasing his rainbow bouncy-ball around the library instead.
