It's amusing to me that I not only have a favorite airport terminal, but I have a favorite restaurant in my favorite airport. I got off of my SJC flight to find out that my DEN-IAD leg is three hours delayed. So I am sitting in Pour la France waiting for my beef burgundy and contemplating life. I'm not going to land at IAD until something like 4 am... I am quite glad I spent the money for economy plus so that I will be able to sleep undisturbed on the plane. I'm crossing my fingers that I am not flying Screaming Baby Airlines tonight.
Eta. It's now 10:25 pm and the waiting is getting to some people. We do actually have a plane, and so we should be boarding soon. In the meantime, the people watching is pretty good for an almost deserted airport. Two guys diagonally from me are debating Palin vs. the worst VPs we've had, and who would be the scariest person to have in charge of the national nuclear arsenal. Over in the hall, there is a guy who broke out his saxophone and is riding the electronic sidewalk back and forth while playing something very familiar that I just can't name at the moment. There is also a DC cop snoring on the floor who I will be waking up when they call for general boarding. He admitted earlier to being retired military, which would explain why he is sleeping through the sax-serenade.
