Goats, gripes, and grasping for greatness
Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival
22nd-Sep-2011 07:23 pm
The Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival is hosting an Angora goat show for the first time this year. In fact, they are starting with a bang and hosting a different judge for Saturday as Sunday, and running the ENTIRE GOAT SHOW on both days.

Come on out and root for Gimble, Goblin, and Talla! Or just come out and buy the pretty yarns. That's good too.

Thanks for the pings. We are trying to wrangle the weekend so we (or maybe I if homework eats Joel's brain) would be able to come out. If we do, are you liable to be found in one place? (do you have a booth? when are you planning to be there?)

My brain is leaky, so I have to refer to the Angora Goat Show Schedule to know where I'm supposed to be and when.

From that reference, I can be firm about saying that I will be at the Angora Goat Show location (barns) on Saturday from 8-10AM, and then from 1-4PM. Anything else is a strong maybe, because I will be doing it all again on Sunday, from 9-noon and then at 3:30PM. (If I can manage to get out of bed on time, I'll be there at 8 on Sunday to watch how they run the Youth Showmanship classes. I would like to pick up some pointers for the next time I judge a 4H competition.)

Look for the Giant Cricket Farm sign. That's likely where I won't be, because I'll be down four pens selling someone else's goats. ::grin::

Wish I could go, but didn't know about it until last week. We've already got plans for both days this weekend. Have a great time!
