We got home tonight to find Mona's jet black twin girls standing there next to their mom, completely dry, squalling about the horrible room service. Mona has teat issues, so we will be keeping a close eye on nursing progress for the next few days for them.
And the 2012 kidding storm is over. Six moms, eight days, ten kids. Done. I'd call this a
qualified success so far.

Mona had twin jet black baby girls on Friday. Kidding season is successfully concluded.
ETA (9:45 PM): The non-functioning teat issue appears to be getting in the way of any nursing training at all. Mona is not helping her girls figure out how to eat, nor are they achieving much on their own. We took a bottle out to them, and one of the girls sucked down over 4 ounces. The other one still hasn't figured out how to suckle yet, so she ended up wearing more than she drank.
Three years ago, Achaosofkittens was the main bottle-provider for Scout, and he still has the touch. Eight years ago, we spelled each other off to bottle-feed kittens on schedule. So if we have to, we know we can do this again... CK is taking the 2 AM feeding tonight, and, if they still need help, I get the 6 AM feeding in the morning...
