It got hotter and hotter today, and eventually I started into a headache. It was not nearly as bad as yesterday's, though. I briefly nodded off during the parasite lecture, and then perked up just in time for the Q&A portion.
Instead of going out with the goat group for dinner, I accepted an invitation from some of the yarn vendors to "an Amish place" that was over hill and down dale some twenty miles away. It was actually a huge place called "The Amish Door" with food that was about the same as Old Country Buffet, and about as ethnic. Sigh. But the company was good, and drive was lovely, both out and back. On the way back, it was late enough that some of the farms' livestock was putting itself away. I drove by cattle walking in their meandering lines back to the barn, then horses, then cattle again. There were no people involved in this returning of the animals. It was quite pleasant and bucolic.
In what was supposed to be a BRIEF stop on the way to the hotel, I discovered that the place to NOT be is WalMart on a Saturday night. It took me 45 minutes to buy a towel.
The reason for the towel is that the fairgrounds has showers, so I can load up the goats, then shower off all of the itchies before getting in the car for the drive home. But showering is much nicer when I have a towel...
