A yarn and roving filled Christmas!
24th-Dec-2012 08:47 pm

This Christmas was so fiberlicious* I just can't wait to squee about it!

Achaosofkittens totally wins by getting me a bunch of things I'd never mentioned but love love love. The one thing I did mention was a Wooly Winder for my Majacraft Little Gem spinning wheel. I now have that, plus two extra bobbins. Woooo! But in addition to that little love, I also now have a "Silk Fiber Fun Kit" and a mixed exotic fiber sampler plus DVD on ways to spin them. I gotta get spinning immediately!

Clockwise from 12: cotton/alpaca 8 oz, musk ox, yak top, pygora, white alpaca, cashmere, camel.

My sister and mother went in on five skeins of chunky Baby Alpaca yarn, which is enough yardage for me to make a big triangle shawl complete with fringe. Woot! And my sister gave me the Knitting Stitch Bible so that I can stop sounding like a complete moron when I ask - again - about translating written patterns to charts.

So really, I'm a happy camper this evening. (I'll be giving away the angora bunny roving, of course.)

*I have typed it so often that my iPad now auto-fills "fiberlicious" when I type an ell after "fiber."

Merry Christmas to you! I'd already pulled the angora out. It was sitting on the end of the table, exiled from the photo shoot. Sorry about the confusion.

And yes, that silk box is amazing! Must. Spin. Something!

Silk cocoons are up next on my 'ooh, wonder what THAT'S like' list. Looking forward to seeing what you think of them!
