Knitting bolero is finished
23rd-Jan-2013 09:58 pm

My first "real" knitting project of the year is compete. My bolero is a tad small, and not terribly flattering, but it is done. I did everything according to pattern from swatching first to the grrr one-one cables. I am quite happy with myself tonight.

And I've done the swatch for my next pattern-based project, the "Pavone" shawl by Jayme Stahl. I saw that the example is in blue, but I found a couple of skeins of my white lace mohair yarn. I think my first "real" lace attempt should be in white. Sure, that may be stereotypical of me, but it feels right. And I really want to do it in *my* yarn.

Yay finished project! I'm ambivalent about boleros. I always want them to look better than they do, but am finding that the only construction that really flatters is effectively a very short cardigan. Sigh.

Looks good! And the Pavone shawl is a beautiful pattern! I've been working on getting my UFOs finished. Just tonight I finished a cowl that I started over a year ago. I have another cowl I need to kitchener together and a double knit scarf to finish. I'm also working on another scarf, but that one is going to take a while to finish and there is no rush on it. I have sooooo many other things that I want to work on, but I don't know which to do next!

One thing I'm using a lot is the "queue" feature in Ravelry. I can keep all of my "I wanna do that!" thoughts in one place and assign them some kind of priority there.

Very nice- I like the lacy aspect of it a lot!
