Goats, gripes, and grasping for greatness
Knitting lace continues
31st-Jan-2013 11:17 am

The great lace knitting experiment continues. As of last night, I've completed the first section of the Pavone shawl. I'm knitting it on my own yarn - Summer or Penny, I don't remember who - so it has a lot of spring and curl right now. Amazonmink has offered to help me block it out nicely when I'm done, which is going to be both necessary and good to get some of the bounce to calm down and show off the pattern. Also, megknitsalot has offered to write out the charts for me, since I'm so NOT a visual learner when it comes to actually reading knitting. That will be quite the frustration-saver.

That is so pretty!

Thanks! I think so, and I hope that blocking it out will make the pattern even nicer.

So neat to use your own home-grown yarn for a project! It looks great thus far, and I look forward to seeing it blocked out! Lace has the bad habit of looking kind of mushy and disappointing pre-blocking. Blocking is magic, I tellya.
