Naamah_Darling has posted another insightful rant
on how some inspirational displays of overcoming disability are both unhelpful and irrational.
The assumptive bias in the photo about which Naamah is complaining is staggering. I cannot conceive how someone thought a "bad attitude" was the only thing that little girl has to overcome. How about considering her serious physical handicap quite possibly paired with mental and emotional problems? Sure, a bad attitude might keep me from accomplishing some of my wishes and wants in life, but give me a break! At least I have hands
I'm stopping here. Go read Naamah's rant. Like many of her outbursts about disabilities, it is educational and eye-opening. Again.
