We've had a string of abnormally cool days for summer, and I think it's caused the boys to come into season early. I caught a wiff of Cookie in the boys' pasture this morning, and Ari was practicing his grunting (precursor to singing). Even Krys was curling his lip just for kicks. The girls aren't showing anything exciting yet, but they usually start later than the boys.
It's kind of sad, really, since I don't plan to breed this year. I haven't sold sufficient numbers to justify adding more to the herd. I still have four yearlings and two kids to sell, and I'll be gaining two kids at the end of October when Talla's kids come south.
