Zippy Roger, the 2005 (second model version hatchback) Prius, is running for the far end of the good side of the bell curve. While there are a lot of annoying things that are wrong, the car itself continues to run without too many major issues (or even many normal issues) and also continues to make me happy. Yes, the mileage has fallen by almost 10 mpg on a regular commuting day. I'm willing to go with 40-42 mpg and still consider it a gas-efficient car.
Yay happy car day.
P.S. There is another guy with a 2005 Prius who has the same service guy as I will have now that Tony has left (welcome Mark!). This guy replaced his battery at 290k miles, and is now at 470k. He's planning to have a 10-year/half-a-million-mile celebration with his mechanic next year.
