Goats, gripes, and grasping for greatness
Dirt and proto-dirt
8th-May-2016 07:35 pm
Summer
This weekend was a great occasion for dirt of all forms. I took a huge load to the dump, including used cat litter and old moldy fleeces, which will then become landfill. Achaosofkittens repaired the tractor tire, which gave me greater efficiency in moving muck and dirt.

Quixotic_Goat helped me dig out the muck on the goat patio in front of the barn, and I used the tractor to move more than half of it all the way into the back garden where the magic of time will change it from proto-dirt all the way into dirt. I also used the tractor to move last year's goat compost-now-dirt into the second replaced garden bed. There were many many MANY earthworms in that dirt.

I didn't get the low spot up front by the water spigot filled in, but it's still on my list. I'll use the old mulch pile dirt for that, probably.

Proto-dirt!

Everything is proto-dirt, if you think about it.

Yup! And on a farm, that is a good thing.
