Goat medical costs (castration)

In case anyone out there in LJ land cares, here's the breakdown for what it cost to have Lerris and Kagan removed from the breeding herd. And I have to say, $35 for a farm call seems very reasonable to me.

Farm Call (zone 3) - $35 total
Tranquilization - $18 each
Anesthesia - $15 each
Castration - $50 each
CT&T booster shot - $4.70 each

So, basically, it was about $88 each for the castration plus $35 for the farm call. ($105.20 per goat for everything averaged out.) As far as I have heard from other goat owners, this is an incredibly good price for a service that isn't even available in other locations.

... of course, this bill also included the emergency visit to look at the dog when she refused to walk, so the bottom line is a tad more...
