The Howland Fire (0% contained), on the Plumas National Forest, is currently at 120 acres. The fire is burning in heavy timber and rugged terrain around the Slate Creek area. "There are no homes or communities within the boundaries of the Plumas National Forest threatened at this time."
Two fires just east of I-395, 1/2 miles NE of Hallelujah Junction, have consumed 3,000 acres and are 0% contained as of 7/15/09 at 8 PM. No structures are threatened at the Junction.
